Divide the strands into 4 pairs
Tie a tight Crown Knot (Ashley’s #2928)
The first Crown Knot may actually settle into the center of the Double Diamond, that’s fine!
Tying a series of Crown Knots produces a Square Parallel-Strand Reverse Crown Sinnet (You may also alternate the strands used for pairs and end up with a round sinnet).
After 10 Crown knots, the bell pull is an adequate length for a smallish bell commonly found on many yachts. (The example at left consists of 18 Crowns).
This forms the solid shaft of the bell pull. Other sinnets can be used, and you can insert a core such as a pencil, small paintbrush handle, etc. if you want it thicker.
